If you consider a career in design and construction of buildings, you may be thinking about working in architecture or engineering. However, engineers and architects do not earn degrees in roofing or concrete repairs or in finding the source of leaks. Engineers and architects have a general knowledge of roof systems, building construction and building materials, but not all work with them.

Architecture and engineering both have the potential to lead to rewarding careers, but they have different responsibilities and requirements for each career path. There are no more or less to one program than to another, just different types of design. Architecture is much more than studio lessons, design drawings, sketches and all that in between.
